Romancing the Smoke: A Hookah Blog for Beginners
My name is Katie, and I’m here today because I have a terrible secret. I know nothing about hookahs. Nothing about the long bendy part, the little screwy parts, the shiny parts, the glass part, or the burny part.
Look how little I know about hookah...embarrassing And shisha? I know it smells lovely and I smoked it a few times in college. The only flavor that I ever tried was mango, and I mostly went to the hookah cafés because I liked the hummus. So what in the world is my hookah-knowledge-deficient-hiney doing here? Well, I’m here to learn, and hopefully you are, too. Not everyone who visits Hookah-Shisha.com is a connoisseur of the hobby, and we want this to be a place where both the hookah-curious and the well-versed professionals are welcomed. If you’re looking to learn from the ground up (like me!), or if you just want to brush up your knowledge, then stick with me, kid. We’ll learn together and become a part of the vastly expanding hookah community.
I am serious when I say ‘community’, there are customs, traditions, history, and etiquette involved. The hookah experience often goes well beyond a casual hobby. But before we get to all of that, maybe my hookah-saavy friends out there can help me answer the biggest question of all...where to start?
