Make sure that you are placing the hose grommet firmly on the hose before inserting the hose into the hose connector. You may wish to use two hose grommets (instead of one) for additional support and stability. When using a non-rotating hookah, be sure to turn the hookah when necessary to minimize the strain on the hose. Don't be afraid to insert the hose firmly into the hose connector, and a slight twist while inserting may help tighten the connection. A trick you can use to thicken the hose grommets up to get a better seal is to wrap tape around the outside of the hose grommet. You can also wrap tape around the end of the hose as well, which will create a tighter connection when the hose is placed in the hose adapter.

The finest solution I discovered is the simplest - get an ordinary toilet paper, wrap it several times (you'll get a rectangle 2 cm high), gently moist it, and place it instead of plastic grommet. It fits greatly and provides great sealing for the air for your hookah. It is great solution when you have no plastic grommets and works maybe even better. Of course it's for one use only.

So, I just recently bought a hookah. I bought a hose connector because it only came with one hose and another outlet thing that was covered by a cap. So I tried to but the hose connector in so I could have a 2 hose hookah instead of one but it doesn't fit...am I doing something wrong or?
