My tongs are always resting on the coal tray when I'm smoking at home. At hookah lounges, they usually have the tongs on the hose port when carrying the hookahs and then rest them on the coal tray when they set the hookah down by the table. Sorry SmokeorPass ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
